What began as a senior project for a high school student, Jim Ryan, at Christ Church Episcopal School in 2000 has turned into one of Greenville's little tourist attractions. The idea came from the book, Goodnight Moon, a children's book where there are nine mice, one per page, you try to find as you read the story. Local sculptor, Zan Wells, actually created the mice. Nine mice were made and permanently placed in different spots on Main Street, creating a type of scavenger hunt for children of all ages. Because Mice on Main is about Greenville and for Greenville, proceeds from sales of the books, games, and t-shirts are contributed to a charity in the Greenville area.
